Assistant Professor Vildan Coskun held a lecture on Basic features of divan literature and poetesses of divan Literature for the students of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature.
Dr. Coskun is a specialist in divan literature and comes from Turkey. The teaching staff and students were delighted by the modern approach to analyzing divan literature and the findings that women in the Ottoman period wrote divan poetry.
According to Dr. Vildan Coskun, although poets are dominant during the Ottoman period, there were 46 poetesses who wrote divan poetry. Most of them expressed their lyrical feelings in this kind of divan poetry.
The students of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature are happy to have had the opportunity to learn about the new aspects of divan literature.
