My name is Leire Cuadrado, I’m a Spanish general medicine student from Bilbao. I will like to tell you a little about my story here in Stip, Macedonia.
I arrived here with some of my Spanish colleges in September. Before we went to our final destination, Stip, we spent a few days in Skopje. At first, this country surprised us a lot because it is really different from ours. I must say that we were amazed with Skopje, with its streets and its riverside which is beautiful especially at night. We also decided to go to Canyon Matka which is also one of my favourite places of Macedonia.
However, my favourite place in Macedonia is without any doubt, Ohrid. I could say that it is one of my favourite places in the world. I think that everything there was really beautiful and the atmosphere there was amazing.
I have to say that I can’t speak of my Erasmus without telling something about the Macedonian people. They have treat us since the very first moment as if we were their guests here. Even if sometimes they didn’t speak English or Spanish, they have always try to help us whenever it was possible.
In the academic area I will like to say that my experience has been really enriching from the first moment. They have given me the opportunity to learn more about medicine in a different way. They have also contacted us with some American professors who are here in a teaching project who are really good with us also.
In conclusion, I will like to say that it has been a really good experience in which I have been able to know a lot of people from different countries, learn a lot of different cultures… So, I will recommended it for sure!
